Google I/O- Day 1
The day started at 7:45 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. There was breakfast and coffee available. We got in line and waited to get into for the Welcoming. Once we got inside and got our seats, we played a paint interactive game. Everyone in the audience was able to go to a site on their phone and pick a color - then flick the phone to paint onto the large screen that displayed a blank 3-D sculptures. After that the large screen showed a view of the world and tons of paper air planes. Again, on our phones, we were able to interact with it. We made airplanes and launched it. Then we can use our phone to "catch" other's air planes and place your location stamp. It was fun to "catch" air planes that had stamps from all around the world.Sundar Pichai was the key note speaker and he announced several things:
- Google Assistant[18]
- Google Home[19] - a wireless speaker and voice-command device, a competitor to Amazon Echo
- Allo - a messaging app[20]
- Duo - a video-calling app[21]
- Daydream - a VR platform[22]
- Android Wear 2.0[23]
- Android Instant Apps[24] - a feature that allows the use of apps that haven't been installed
- Google Play on Chrome OS[25] - run Android Apps on Chromebooks
